Hi Simon,
Thanks for the welcome. Lots to comment on with regard to EB.

As we all know it’s a very big subject. My feeling that many companies have yet to fully understand and grasp the topic through to effective and integrated execution.

I feel a big challenge for many organisations is that the attitude and responsibility for EB seems to rest primarily with HR, with little buy-in or support from other teams such as marketing.

We see a great deal of opportunity for organisations to further develop this area and position themselves strongly both locally and internationally and then deliver on that promise. Having said that the material we see from the UK is just dreadful on the whole – NZ is well ahead of them on many levels.

What I enjoy about EB, as with any marketing campaign is the whole transparency of the process. It makes the organisation look hard at itself and be honest with what sets it apart and offers talent. And its very measurable.

The process is really understanding yourself, understanding your audience and developing a compelling proposition to attract. Easy to say, much more of a challenge to achieve.

We are just now seeing now some very good innovation and integrated approaches with EB - has been a long time coming - long way to go.

Hi Simon, unfortunately something non-work came up, so I too missed the conference. Shame, as I was really looking forward to it - some of my blogging heros presented there. Leigh J and Joe S went that I know of, so I let's gauge their views.

Hi Simon
Thanks for the offer - I'm waiting to hear this week if I've picked up another contract for the next 6 months. If not, I'd definitely be interested in following up with your contact.

Hi Simon, Yep a very big challenge ahead especially getting traffic. So far we have 6,000 uniques for the month... not too bad considering the last six months has been more development of the site and a very soft launch. Much more planned and what you see currently is only the beginning. Spotjobs.co.nz is going to be more than simple job listings... watch this space!
